The facilities constructed under the Solid Waste Management Project namely the Transfer Stations and the Regional Sanitary Landfill are owned by the Government of Belize, managed by the Belize Solid Waste Management Authority.

Solid Waste Management

Solid Waste is any material that has been discarded and is no longer useful to its original “owner”.

Transfer Stations

The Authority currently manages two transfer stations, namely the Belize City Transfer Station, San Ignacio/Santa Elena.

Sanitary Landfill

The Authority currently manages the mile 24 regional sanitary landfill. Â It is located at mile 24 on the George Price Highway.
